Are there any other fans? I smoke Marlboro Menthols and lately I've just really enjoyed French Inhaling...The process whereby which you pull a drag into your mouth and then passively let it out, while inhaling the smoke through your nose. It's a nice way to "smell" the smoke of a cigarette instead of just pulling normal drags.

I've found that I tend to do it when I'm deep in thought, whether it's problem solving or daydreaming. I don't know why - I guess it's just like people that doodle while thinking about things. Also, it seems to help my chronic rhinitis a bit

i gave up smoking about 4 years ago, but on a recent visit to the UK we picked up a couple ov tins ov tobacco snuff, one menthol flavoured, the other aniseed & eucalyptus.
WOW Such a nice little hit, & the flavours really help to clear the head. 400,000 people die of smoking each and every year in North America.
There is enough poison in a pack of cigarettes to kill probably 4 people. Yes we will all die. I just don't want to do it by cancer. |

I just don't want to do it by cancer. Unless they've been living in a cave for the last 50 years, I think most smokers are well aware of the trouble it will bring them. Like many other thingsit's an addictive product that's very difficult to stop using once you've started. I hate the damn things - they stink, they're expensive, they stain your teeth and give you bad breath, and with all the new laws it's becoming harder and harder to even find a place to smoke, but I'm not ready to quit, so I'm not going bother even trying. i gave up smoking about 4 years ago, but on a recent visit to the UK we picked up a couple ov tins ov tobacco snuff, one menthol flavoured, the other aniseed & eucalyptus. WOW Such a nice little hit, & the flavours really help to clear the head. Is snuff like powdered tobacco that you snort or what? I've heard that you're supposed to snort the stuff or something, but I've never really seen anybody do it. Personally, I've TRIED to snort some powdered tobacco "snuff" because somebody bet me five dollars that I wouldn't. I know it sure didn't feel like it was the correct way to use it, and the guy who had bought it said that he put it behind his lip. So.... what EXACTLY is "snuff" ???????? Now back to the original question: I've tried the "french inhale", but couldn't find any sensible reason to do it other than for show (like smoke rings). I guess I might could understand it a bit more if someone is smoking menthol though. I don't like menthols though, so I don't care to do it. Peace! -------------------- |

QUOTE Snuff is ground or pulverized tobacco, which is generally inhaled or "snuffed" through the nose. It is a type of smokeless tobacco. There are several types, but traditionally it means Dry/European nasal snuff. In the United States, "snuff" can also refer to dipping tobacco, which is applied to the gums rather than inhaled. Types [edit] European (dry) snuff The Monk of Calais (1780) by Angelica Kauffmann, depicting Pastor Yorick exchanging snuffboxes with Father Lorenzo "..having a horn snuff box in his hand, he presented it open to me.--You shall taste mine--said I, pulling out my box and putting it into his hand." From Laurence Sterne's A Sentimental Journey. Dry snuff, or European snuff is usually scented or flavored and is intended to be sniffed through the nose. Typical flavors are floral, mentholated (also called 'medicated'), fruit, and spice, either pure or in blends. Other common flavors include: * Spearmint * Cinnamon * Rose * Camphor Modern Flavors * Cola * Whisky * Bourbon * Cherry Apart from flavors, dry snuff also comes in a range of texture and moistness, from very fine to coarse, and from toast (very dry) to very moist. Often drier snuffs are ground finer. [edit] Moist A tin of Copenhagen American dipping tobacco. Main article: Dipping tobacco Moist snuff is called snuff or dip in the U.S. in contrast to the aforementioned dry snuff, which was perceived to be a European, particularly British and French, habit[citation needed]. In truth, it originates, and is still produced and used, in Europe. It tends to be applied to the gums, rather than sniffed. Called dipping tobacco, it is similar to snus, a Swedish tobacco product, and it is possible that this type of snuff originated in Sweden or Scandinavia[citation needed]. American snuff comes in many varieties, with flavours including peach, mint, and licorice. Dipping tobacco is distinct from chewing tobacco. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snuff i see where the confusion came in. i don't think snorting dip would be much fun. i tried some snus the oral way once, got a mild buzz off it but it wasn't worth the yuck taste or the constant spitting ov black shit. -------------------- For it is a fact that all living beings in all ways follow in all respects Lord Krishna's path as He resides as the supreme soul within all living beings.

Snuff does not equal dip, even though snuff can sometimes be used like dip. Snuff is generally cut/ground much finer than dip so that it can actually be snorted. I've used snuff the traditional way on a few occasions just to say that I did. Not an unpleasant experience, but not one that I'd want to repeat too often either.
