The software sorely needs an update and this is why we have spammers and
duplicate names.
I cannot see all at one time, but as these matters become apparent to me I deal with them.
I assure you that the policy of this site is to have one person owning a member name.
It would be too confusing otherwise.

Peace.

I'm not sure if anybody ever actually read my explanation for this little hiccup, so here goes again:

For one of the users it was Time4Tea

For the other user it was Time 4 Tea

While it's a SMALL difference, the software would have problems keeping things like that from happening. It was just the matter of one having a space and the other having no spaces.

I don't think the software messed up at all.

Yup- on the top of the page, between Search and Calendar.
Once you get on there, you can line us up any way you want to
sort it out.

Although the software would have those problems, I think there have been decent upgrades in such algorithms over the years. I'm pretty sure there's a fairly new way of avoiding this, and it's written in some of the newer software. Can someone back me up on this? Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Will somebody confirm to me that I'm conveying this sentence correctly-

There wasn't a problem with any program. The two names were different. Otherwise, no two account names will ever appear the same.

I'm even more confused, and am really uncomfortable
discussing my member in this situation.

...or maybe I just had a Members Only jacket in the 80's.
Dunno...
I'm standing on a cut off tree, and I'm stumped.

It's a good sentence but not true.
The software (when properly updated) has filters to avoid mistakes like this.
This is a matter of fact.

I don't see that as the issue, remotely. In my opinion, the real problem comes from us quickly reading a name and assuming that it's someone it is not. For example, if I got a PM from Tea Time that said "Check this out: Web site full of cheap drugs", I would follow the link, and poke around a bit. Since I know TT, he wouldn't be sending me trash or phishing lines. My trust would be extended, me not noticing that it wasn't "my" Tea Time that sent it, but someone called Tea_Time. Make sense? So, differentiation in names should be clear, lest we be mixing people up. This is something that requires a human touch, I believe.
